Annual Report- Academic Year 2019-20
The Internal Compliance Committee provides a healthy and congenial ambience to the girl students and women staff of the College. The new Chairperson, Ms. Ramya B, took charge on August 1st, 2019. The Chairperson conducted a meeting to address and restate the guidelines and norms of the Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee. The staff and students were informed about the Internal Compliance Committee during the respective orientation programmes. The student council representatives for the year assisted in coordinating the programmes organised by the cell. During the year, no cases of sexual harassment were reported.

In collaboration with the women empowerment cell, an in-house session on ‘Gender sensitization’ was conducted. A special orientation workshop on ‘Self-Defense’ was offered to the students on September 6,2019. Sessions on ‘Gender and Media’ and ‘Gender and Justice’ as part of the lecture series were conducted on December 6 and December 7, 2019. 1065 students benefitted from the sessions. Both these sessions proved useful and the students suggested more of such engaging sessions.

PREVENTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT COMMITTEE Annual Report- Academic Year 2018-19
The Internal Compliance Committee (ICC) ensures the holistic growth of the students of the campus. To ensure the same, the committee works towards providing orientation and sessions to enable the physical and emotional well-being of the students. A meeting was conducted to address the new faculty about the guidelines and norms of the ICC. The staff and the student representatives were informed about the guidelines to overcome any form of sexual harassment during the staff and student orientation programmes at the beginning of the academic year. The members of the cell worked out a detailed plan of action for the implementation of the policy. During this year no cases of sexual harassment were reported.
The committee took into consideration the needs of the students and as per their feedback, a lecture series on “Gender Sensitization” was conducted on September 7, 2018, and on January 4, 2019. The sessions proved to be fruitful for the students. The feedback gathered from the student representatives suggested sessions on various Gender-related topics like ‘Gender and Media’ and ‘Gender justice’ as part of the lecture series for the next academic year. The student council representatives for the year helped in the smooth functioning of the committee.

PREVENTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT COMMITTEE Annual Report – Academic Year 2017-18
The Internal Compliance Committee (ICC) ensured the holistic growth of the students of the campus by providing orientation and effectual sessions to encourage the students’ well-being.
Dr. Elcey C.D., Head, Department of Life Sciences was nominated as the Chairperson of the Internal Compliance Committee (ICC) for the academic years 2017-18 and 2018-19. The committee took into consideration the needs of the students and as per their feedback, sessions on self-defense were conducted on September 8, 2017.
A video presentation on enhancing emotional quotient was organized on October 3, 2017, for the second and final year students. Apart from this, a session on ‘Gender bias and discrimination’ was conducted on December 7, 2017, exclusively for the first-year students. The sessions proved to be helpful for the students. During this academic year, no cases of sexual harassment were reported. A meeting was conducted to address the new faculty about the guidelines and norms of the ICC. The staff and the student representatives were informed about provisions to report and redress any form of sexual harassment. The members of the cell worked out a detailed plan of action for the implementation of the policy. The student council representatives for the year helped in the activities organized by the committee.

PREVENTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT COMMITTEE Annual Report – Academic Year 2016-17
The Internal Compliance Committee (ICC) functions toward providing a safe and congenial atmosphere to the girl students and women staff of the College. Based on the suggestions provided by the students, the committee held sessions on ‘Gender and Mental Well-being’ on September 13 and 14, 2016. The resource persons were Dr. Nagaveni and Dr. Alice Aloysius. The cell commemorated Human Rights day, on December 10, 2016, by organizing a session with a special focus on the rights and safety of girl students. The sessions proved to be constructive for the students. During the year, no cases of sexual harassment were reported.
During the academic year, a complaint form for reporting sexual harassment was designed by the team members according to the norms of the committee and an annexure on the procedure to be followed in case of any contingency was created. A meeting was conducted to address the new faculty members about the guidelines and policies of the Committee. The staff were informed about the newly incorporated guidelines and annexure to address sexual harassment issues if any.

PREVENTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT COMMITTEE Annual Report – Academic Year 2015-16
The Internal Compliance Committee (ICC) functions according to the guidelines of the UGC and ensures the provision of a healthy and congenial atmosphere to the girl students of the College. Mrs. Susan Sanny, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities was nominated as the Chairperson of the Committee for Prevention of Sexual Harassment for the academic years 2015- 16 and 2016-17. A meeting was conducted to address the Faculty about the guidelines and norms of the Sexual Harassment Prevention Cell. The staff were informed about the functions of the committee. The members of the committee worked out a detailed plan of action for the academic year. The student council representatives for the year were also a part of the committee.
Ail the girl students were informed about the formation of the ICC during an orientation programme organised on September 3-4, 2015. The availability of an in-house counsellor was also informed to the students. The functions of the committee and the procedure to receive, investigate, and redress grievances about sexual harassment were briefed. No cases of sexual harassment were reported in the academic year.
In collaboration with the women empowerment cell, two in-house sessions on Gender sensitization and rights of girl students were organized on September 23, 2015, and December 9, 2015. Eight hundred students benefited from the sessions. The contact details of the Chairperson and members were announced on the notice boards.
