Eid Milad-un-Nabi, commemorating the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, is being observed across India with religious fervour. Religious gatherings, Milad Mehfils, Seerat Conferences and processions are being organised, while national leaders have conveyed messages of peace, compassion and harmony.

●     Eid Milad-un-Nabi, also called Milad-un-Nabi, marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad and is observed by Muslims in different parts of the world.

●     In India, the occasion is being marked through various religious and community programmes.

●     Major observances include:

○      Milad Mehfils highlighting the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad.

○      Seerat Conferences focusing on his character, teachings and message.

○      Milad processions organised in several regions.

●     Elaborate security arrangements have been made in areas witnessing large gatherings and processions.

●     The occasion provides an opportunity for followers to reflect upon values associated with the Prophet’s life, including righteousness, compassion, kindness and social responsibility.

●     President Droupadi Murmu extended greetings, particularly to the Muslim community, and highlighted the importance of Prophet Muhammad’s teachings.

●     She encouraged citizens to draw inspiration from his ideals and contribute towards creating an inclusive and developed nation.

●     The President emphasised values of righteousness and duty as relevant principles for public and social life.

●     Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan wished that the occasion would strengthen:

○      Compassion.

○      Harmony.

○      Mutual respect.

○      Brotherhood.

●     Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended greetings and expressed hope that the occasion would promote togetherness and joy.

●     He highlighted the values of kindness and giving back to society.

●     Collectively, the messages underline the broader ideals of peace, social harmony and mutual respect in a diverse society.
