One Day Educational Tour Conducted by Universal Group Of Institutions

Universal School of administration organised the trekking expedition for Under graduate students of 1st Year (BA & B.COM ) on 31st December 2023 to Shivagange Hill & Siddhara Betta which are located in Bengaluru rural & Tumakuru district respectively

The objective of the trekking expedition was to sensitize the students about the importance of physical and mental well being through exploration of history and nature.

History of Shivagange Hill & Siddara Betta:

A.Sivaganga is a sacred hill with a height of 4,559 feet above the level of the sea. Its outline appears from the east as a bull, from the west as a Ganesha, from the north as a serpent, and from the south as a linga.

The number of steps leading to the top is said to equal the number of yojanas to Varanasi (Kashi).Hence this is also known as Dakshina Kashi.

The hill was fortified during the 16th century by Shivappa Nayaka.the founder of Bengaluru, Magadi Kempegowda, also made improvements to the fortifications and kept a portion of his treasure within it.

B.Siddara Betta in kannada means “Hill of Saints”, so known because many saints performed penance and meditation here.The hills are also famous for the medicinal plants and hence this is also known as a center for medicinal plants used in traditional medicine.

Moreover, the trekking expedition was aimed to nurture a sense among students of staying positive and exhibiting perseverance in the light of hectic academic schedule to achieve the goals in life as well as to realise their dreams

Students have expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the college administration for organising the trekking activity at height of their academic workload.
