Empowering Innovation: Paper Presentation Event on ‘Startup in India & Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ Held at Universal School of Administration
Bengaluru, August 5, 2025 – The Universal School of Administration, under its IQAC initiative, hosted a dynamic and thought-provoking Paper Presentation Event on the theme “Startup in India & Atma Nirbhar Bharat: Real Impact or Rhetoric” at its Seminar Hall 1. The event brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests to critically examine India’s startup ecosystem and the vision of self-reliance under the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign.
Presided over by Mr. R. Upendra Shetty, Chairman of Universal Group of Institutions, the session set the tone for intellectual exploration and practical dialogue on national development strategies. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Santhosh M. Shetty, Founder and Managing Director of Canara Hydraulics Pvt. Ltd., who shared invaluable insights from his entrepreneurial journey and the realities of building indigenous industrial capabilities.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Iqbal Ur Rahman, Incharge of the Incubation and Entrepreneurship Cell, who emphasized the institution’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and critical engagement among students.
Participants presented papers on a range of sub-themes such as:
- Government policies and startup funding ecosystems
- Impact of Make in India and Digital India initiatives
- Case studies of successful Indian startups
- Challenges to scaling up indigenous enterprises
- The socio-economic impact of Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiatives
The session encouraged analytical thinking on whether India’s self-reliance movement is a transformative vision or merely rhetorical branding. It also sparked meaningful conversations on the role of youth and academia in nation-building.
