The Bombay High Court quashed charges against the last accused in the 2006 Malegaon blasts case, raising concerns about investigative lapses, conflicting probes by agencies, and challenges in securing justice in major terror cases.

2006 Malegaon Blasts: Incident and Initial Probe:

●  Incident Details: On September 8, 2006, multiple bombs exploded near Hamidia Masjid and Bada Kabrastan in Malegaon (Maharashtra).

●  Casualties: The attack killed 31 people and injured over 300, making it a major terror incident.

●  Modus Operandi: Explosives were planted on bicycles and public locations after Friday prayers.

●  Initial Investigation: The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) took over the case.

●      Early Accusations: ATS linked the attack to members of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India and arrested nine individuals.
